We are based in Perth Western Australia and the Open Mat Martial Arts team sees the world as it’s dojo.
Regular training in your base martial art and the ability to empty the cup, become a student and learn new skills is essential in developing as a martial artist.
Along with Sensei Colin Niland’s busy training and teaching regime he has recently traveled to Japan to train at the Yoseikan hombu, Bali to train with Aikijujutsu Kobukai and regularly attends other local Perth dojos both as a student and guest instructor. JMA in Joondalup WA recently held a seminar by Sensei Niland covering some Aiki movement concepts and Sensei Niland attended a Knife Defense seminar at Lance Kinnairds dojo last weekend.
